7 famous formats of magic shows

  1. Close Up magic show : performed for the audience close to the magician, and performer stands or sit at fixed place behind the table.
  2. Stand Up magic show (cabaret magic or platform magic) :  performed for a medium to large audience. Magician stands on a stage or platform at higher level than the audience
  3. Stage magic show : performed for large audiences, typically within a theatre or auditorium
  4. Parlor magic show :  performed for larger audiences than close-up magic and for smaller audiences than stage magic. In parlor magic, the performer is usually standing on the same level as the audience, which may be seated on chairs or even on the floor.
  5. Street magic show: performer walks freely and performs magic tricks not requiring any table or work surface
  6. Strolling magic show (Table Magic) : performer walks freely and performs magic tricks which may or may not require a table, a cubicle or any other work surface.
  7. Kiosk magic show: Audience comes to a performer who is standing at one fixed place or booth (kiosk), here audience keeps changing.
